PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (PAC) SUPPORT SERVICES
PPES PARENT COORDINATOR

Overview
The PPES Parent Coordinator strengthens family engagement, supports Title I compliance, and helps the Parent Advisory Council operate effectively. The focus is on communication, parent leadership, and measurable results that support student success.

COMPLIANCE AND GOVERNANCE
Conduct a needs analysis of the current PAC
Ensure alignment with Title I parental involvement requirements
Review bylaws, meeting procedures, and election processes
Support officer elections, meeting notices, agendas, and minutes
Recommend and monitor essential expenditures
Establish quorum and increase parent attendance at meetings

COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT
Collect program data for continuous improvement
Communicate with families by phone, text, email, and mailings
Plan monthly meetings, training sessions, and family events
Provide workshops on literacy and student achievement
Develop and manage a parent and community volunteer program
Maintain records including surveys, evaluations, and progress portfolios
Create a welcoming and responsive environment for families
Publish monthly newsletters and calendars
Coordinate with principals, teachers, and community partners

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR PARENTS AND PAC OFFICERS
Schoolwide Parent Retreat and Annual Report Meeting
Leadership training for officers including Chairperson, Co-Chairperson, Secretary, and Outreach Coordinator
Parent networking events
Monthly parent workshops
Parent seminars and conferences

DELIVERABLES AND IMPACT
Parent participation increases by two to five percent each month
PAC officers gain clarity on roles, policies, and responsibilities
Communication among parents, staff, and the community improves
Monthly professional development is provided for parents
Student and teacher attendance improve and discipline referrals decrease

Build inclusive programs that welcome all families

Conducting Elections and Leadership Transitions
Plan and run transparent elections
Recruit and prepare new leaders
Ensure smooth transitions to maintain momentum
